Moxie Falls Hike - Guided

Just a few short hours is all it takes to tackle this must-do hike right in The Forks, Maine. With its main drop of nearly 90ft, Moxie Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in New England, the tallest in Maine, AND one of the easiest to reach. The trail is just about a mile long (each way, 2.1mi total), wide and well-maintained. With very little elevation change, the steepest part is right at the end, as you descend a series of man-made stairs toward Moxie Stream - by the time you reach them though, the sounds of water rushing over the nearby falls will keep your mind off any of that! At the turn-around is a variety of excellent lookouts to view the various sections of the falls. Your professional and friendly guide will share unique and historical information and stories about the falls and the surrounding area. This hike makes for a perfect trek for beginners, kids and grandparents alike, but shouldn't be skipped by even the most experienced hiker. This trail is accessible year round - in fact mid-winter offers an incredible spectacle of frozen cascades that should not be missed. Small groups will meet right at the trailhead, and larger groups will meet at our base to be shuttled to the trailhead to conserve parking space there. * Even on short hikes, it is important to stay hydrated - please remember to bring a water bottle! *
